Overview

Departure from your hotel at 09:00 for an impeccable day for the Ourika valley, nestled in the Atlas Mountains to take fresh natural air and see some beautiful scenery. In the road to The Ourika valley you will cross the plague of the Haouz and you will discover among other more magnificent landscapes, streams and dwellings that relate to houses gushing from the mountains. Thus of pretty typical Berber village and very beautiful panoramic view. 7 km further, you arrive at Setti-Fatma the most fabulous place of this Valley. And you will discover the waterfalls of ourika. In the afternoon return to Marrakech.

Why ourika ?

The Ourika Valley is a valley of the Moroccan High Atlas located 30 km from Marrakech. It is mainly populated by people of Berber language and Chleuh dialect. Despite its proximity to Marrakech, it is still considered a relatively preserved valley, both in its nature and its traditional mountain lifestyle. Urika is the name of one of the Masmudas tribes, described by Ibn Khaldoun.

Monuments and sights :

- Setti-Fatma: last douar accessible by paved road, this small village is the starting point for many excursions in the nearby mountains. The most popular and easiest hike is to ride along a mountain stream to discover 7 waterfalls.
 - Tin-of- the-Ourika: small douar without great architectural interest in which is held every Monday a traditional souk.
 - Timalizene Garden: a mountain garden planted mainly with species native to the region.   
 - The Safranière de l'Ourika: farm that has the particularity of producing saffron. His visit is the most interesting from late October to mid-November when harvesting this spice.
  -  Bio-aromatic garden of Ourika: this organic garden of aromatic and medicinal plants allows to discover the scents and medicinal virtues of plants.
 -  Berber Ecomuseum of the Ourika Valley: Ecomuseum located in the pottery village of Tafza. It highlights the Berber culture through a collection of photographs, pottery, jewelry, carpets and weavings.
